Windows 98/ME

There's a couple steps for mapping M: drives on Windows 98 and ME, which do not allow you to enter "harding/username". The trick is letting the computer know to look for the Harding domain, without actually logging onto the domain. Here's what you do:

  1. Right-click Network Neighborhood and choose Properties.
  2. In the box listing network components, click Client for Microsoft Networks and choose Properties.
  3. In the window that appears, type "HARDING" in the Windows NT domain box. This is the only thing that needs changed! DO NOT check the Log on to Windows NT domain box.
  4. Click OK for both of the windows. It will ask if you want to restart. Choose Yes and wait for it to restart.
  5. Map the drive as usual

On a Mac

  • From the Desktop, you hit Apple ‘K’
  • Enter the following path: smb://m-drives/username
  • That will get you in.

Off Campus Instructions

Open a web browser and go to http://hushares.harding.edu and type in your Harding username and password when prompted.
  • To get a copy of a file from your M: drive to put onto your computer off-campus, click the "Get" next to the file

  • To put a file onto your m-drive from your computer off-campus, use the "Upload files to active folder" icon
